He also has a Master of Arts Degree in Social Sector Planning and Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology and History from Makerere University, Kampala-Uganda. Part of Alfred’s research works focused on cross-border pastoralism at the Uganda-Democratic Republic of Congo border and how pastoralists relate to state institutions in the pursuit of their livelihoods. In this research work, he explored the way the changing border dynamics due to the intensification of violent militias and increasing security tensions at the edges of the neighbouring nation-states influence the activities of people whose life depends on the rhythms of the ecological diversity of the region. Alfred is also an academic of repute. He divides his time between research and lecturing at Makerere and Kyambogo Universities.

During his research expedition, Alfred was introduced to ecological dimensions with particular reference to ecological diversity and species diversity and richness. He has since developed a passion for the role of living resources in relation to development and anthropological principles. The threat of climate change impacts and their effects on the lifelines of mankind has tickled Alfred to expand the horizon of his research works into climate change phenomenon and its multifaceted impacts on humanity anywhere in the world. Today, Alfred is an evolving ecologist/ natural resource conservationist.
